Conservationist and award winning photographer Steve Williamson, who is also a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA), spends as much time as possible working with conservation charities in the Great Bear Rainforest, BC. Working with these organizations enabled Steve to see many of the amazing sights and wildlife presented in his photographs. It also enabled him to learn a great deal about the spectacular scenery and wonderful wildlife he was seeing, whilst at the same time being able to give something back to the environment and the area in which he was working. Steve's interest in photography grew when trained by the Royal Navy to conduct photography work as an additional part of his ships duties. Steve broadened his interest by taking a college diploma course in the late nineties. Steve and his wife Pauline moved to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island in 2006 and really fell in love with BC and its 'special coast'. Over the past decade or so, Steve's photographs have been published in newspapers, magazines, on websites and have been used in promotional material, video presentations, national slideshows and have been retained in governmental and scientific databases for referance and referal archiving. Today, photographing British Columbia's wildlife is his passion. Check the News for upcoming events I'm attending, if you can attend and would like me to have a picture available for viewing, please let me know.
